January 10, 2005 Vote for Pirate Jesus on TWC and WCL You'll get a preview of the art from next week's comic and also a background or something. New reader InnerBrat made some pretty shway new PJ LJ icons. One of Pirate Judas and one of Vampire Jesus. Also, there exist the icons I made on the not-updated-enough characters page. I'm going to link some comics now. Achewood is a top-tier comic, and doesn't need a link from me, but the comic is just so damned ingenius I'm going to link it any way. I've also really been enjoying a newish comic called Party Turtle. It's about the adventures of a turtle with a party hat, roller skates, and a sparkler, his bug friend Heinerich, and a robot professor guy. I know I've already mentioned that you should read Koo Koo and Luke but I'm doing it again. Also the great Dave and Vyacheslav is back from its hiatus. If you don't subscribe to PJ's LJ or RSS feed, you don't know that I added a secret easter egg to Nerdcore. You'll have to go into the archives to find it. I plan on adding some more. Though this first one is a bit more elaborate than the others are likely to be. Easter eggs being a separate thing from foreshadowing and hidden jokes, which the comic also has. Wink wink. That reminds me of how much I love Futurama. I got season 3 on DVD recently and I've been doing the commentary geek thang. I get to listen to cartoon voice actors talk to math and compsci geek/comedy writers and a cartoonist. It doesn't get much better than that. Unless you add video games and D&D, which they often do.
